AVOID THIS MOVIE if you grew up with Transformers. It will ruin your childhood heroes. It’s watchable if anyone who doesn’t watch the cartoon when kids and only cares about how cool is the CGI effect. The robots design is over complicated. Hard to recognise who is who, especially in action. OK, I do recognise the ugly Optimus Prime though, and of cause the yellow color Mr. Silly Bumblee. Where is the container behind Optimus Prime truck? Suddenly Michael Bay turns it (or transformed?) a large truck into a mini truck. And talking about Optimus Prime, anyone can count how many lines he speaks in the movie? He suppose to be the main character, not the kids. In fact, the superhero in this movie is not Optimus Prime and his gang, it’s a kid named Sam Witwicky because he’s the one who kills Megatron. We suppose to see Transformers as a main lively character, the movie focus on human that sees Transformers as an alien. Shit.

im not sure about you two but i did enjoy... i grew up with the original cartoon series... and plus the fact that i appreciate Art and Design so i'm not that disappointed if there would be a variety of changes in the movie...
they do sometimes look ugly but you cannot fashion out gorgeous designs with iron and metals... so the "over-complicated" designs most probably suited all the 'bots...
anyways its not about who looked bad but its about reliving your childhood fantasies... so im going to enjoy the movie again and again and again...
plus it made Spiderman 3 looked like a movie for pre-school kids :D

yeahh.. very well said plorwaks! i'm gonna have to go with what plorwaks said.
i admit that i grew up with the cartoon series but never liked it because it didn't show the transformers to look like robots. those on the cartoon series didn't seem robot to me so i avoided watching it. however, when i watched this movie, i was like 'Hell yeahhh!!! it's awesome!' the movie showed what the robots should be, i think. michael bay and steven spielberg really did a great job in giving life to the autobots & decepticons. and about the story in the movie, maybe you might wanna check this link so that you may have a clear vision of why the story went that way. besides, michael bay and steven spielberg didn't make this film to impress just you and only you. you never should've watched the movie in the first place if you think it's not going to be as good as the cartoon series. yeah just stick to the cartoon series! anyway, no matter how bad it looks to you, you've already given your support to the movie just by watching it.
just like plorwaks, i'm gonna enjoy the movie again and again and again...

after reading info in the link, I understand why Michael Bay make changes on each aspect. anyway, it’s typical that no one can really satisfy everyone. I believe there’re people who think that Titanic movie is sucks when there’re still millions of fans out there never get bored after watching it again and again.
well i am one of those people who thinks Titanic really sucks... up until now i haven't watched it and i don't see myself seeing just even a clip of it...
yaeh it's just a matter of each one's own personal satisfaction... but i really think the robots in the movie looks better... they don't look like toys... they look mecha enough... and it's very detailed... the cartoon series suits well for the boys... and the movie would be for boys... and the big boys... and girls also!
