Coldplay music gets better and better. Fantastic workpiece.
Verse 1: I used to rule the world Seas would rise when I gave the word Now in the morning I sleep alone Sweep the streets I used to own
I used to roll the dice Feel the fear in my enemies' eyes Listen as the crowd would sing "Now the old king is dead, long live the king!" One minute I held the key Next the walls were closed on me And I discovered that my castle stands Upon pillars of salt, and pillars of sand
I hear Jerusalem bells a'ringing Roman Cavalry choirs are singing Be my mirror, my sword and shield My missionaries in a foreign field For some reason I can't explain Once you'd gone it was never, never an honest word That was when I ruled the world
It was the wicked and wild wind Blew down the doors to let me in Shattered windows and the sound of drums People couldn't believe what I'd become Revolutionaries wait For my head on a silver plate Just a puppet on a lonely string Oh...who would ever wanna be king
I hear Jerusalem bells were ringing Roman Cavalry choirs were singing Be my mirror, my sword and shield My missionaries in a foreign field For some reason I can't explain I know St. Peter won't call my name Never an honest word But that was when I ruled the world
Bridge: Whoaaa (x4)
Bridge and Chorus mix: (Whoa...) Here Jerusalem bells were ringing (Whoa...) Roman Cavalry choirs were singing (Whoa...) Be my mirror, my sword and shield (Whoa...) My missionaries in a foreign field (Whoa...) For some reason I can't explain (Whoa...) I know St. Peter won't call my name Never an honest word But that was when I ruled the world
Jay Chou first self-written, act, produced and directed movie is as cool as his music. Quite surprise because before watching the movie, I guess a lot of us thought it just a simple, poor storyline and boring love story. But surprisingly it ended with an unexpected twist. In fact, it’s more worth watch than last week Rush Hour 3. Feels like M. Shyamalan making a Chinese movie which definitely no one should tell anyone what kind of ‘secret’ in the movie until they watch it by themselves. So far, The Simpsons Movie and 不能說的秘密 are the best movie I’ve ever watched this year. And I still think Michael Bay make the worst movie of 2007.
At the beginning of the movie, Homer Simpson scolds everyone in the cinema for being stupid; paying for a show that can be watched for free on TV. Who cares when it’s damn funny! Spiderpig, Spiderpig…. www.simpsonsmovie.com
AVOID THIS MOVIE if you grew up with Transformers. It will ruin your childhood heroes. It’s watchable if anyone who doesn’t watch the cartoon when kids and only cares about how cool is the CGI effect. The robots design is over complicated. Hard to recognise who is who, especially in action. OK, I do recognise the ugly Optimus Prime though, and of cause the yellow color Mr. Silly Bumblee. Where is the container behind Optimus Prime truck? Suddenly Michael Bay turns it (or transformed?) a large truck into a mini truck. And talking about Optimus Prime, anyone can count how many lines he speaks in the movie? He suppose to be the main character, not the kids. In fact, the superhero in this movie is not Optimus Prime and his gang, it’s a kid named Sam Witwicky because he’s the one who kills Megatron. We suppose to see Transformers as a main lively character, the movie focus on human that sees Transformers as an alien. Shit.
I start to recognize who’s Al Gore was when..guess 10 years ago?; when he came to Malaysia for some world leader meeting and slam Tun Mahatir in his speech on a dinner and left right after that w/o a single greeting to the host. Quite bad impression on him then, but when thought back, his criticism on the way our government treat about democracy issue, he’s absolutely right. And after watching this documentary movie, I personally felt if years ago he beaten Bush and became President of US today, the world will not be the same as today. At the end of this movie, there’s few idea on how we as a human being can help on climate crisis. One of them is very interesting and it sounds like this: “Vote for leaders who pledge to solve this crisis. Write to congress. If they don’t listen, run for congress.”
Human mind is a magnet; we attract what’s in our mind. It’s no accident when something happen. Without realise, we're attracting things that come into our life. That’s call law of attraction.
Some people understand this law but just don’t know how to apply in real life.
Some people just don’t get it; why same bad things happen and happen again in their life. They’re attracting something that they don’t want in their mind.
Let’s try one test, if you really don’t wanna be late on tomorrow morning or the next appointment, do keep telling yourself: “I don’t wanna BE LATE, I don’t wanna BE LATE”, keep focus on this in your mind, feel it and let see the result.
But you don’t really want to try this don’t you :)
Aaron Kwok not crowned as best actor in HK film awards recently mainly because Hong Kongnese don’t understand Malaysian culture. I never thought he really can act as terrible Malaysian father in 父 子. Just watch the DVD last week. The movie is fantastic. I’m wondering why the producer / director thought of making a movie that are very Malaysian. Why just done it in Hong Kong?
The Best Scene: Leonardo fighting Raphael in the rain on one of the buildings roof in Chinatown.
The Most Disappointed: Instead showing off his skateboard skill, the movie didn't show Michelangelo's skill on using Nunchaku while fighting villains. Perhaps the Americans don’t know much bout this weapon.
Suggestion: should ask Donnie Yen to create the fight scene choreography and include a new cover version of the original theme song in this movie.
Not so good about this movie: Short and story line (not poor, but less interesting). Not so matter coz it’s Ninja Turtles.
After listened to Linkin Park new song sample, I felt it’s the kind of same old style, no breakthrough. But that doesn’t mean their upcoming “Minutes to Midnight” CD could be bad. But for the first single, I probably will turn it off whenever it starts to hit airplays.
Not sure when was this tabloid came out. But I don’t believe the earlier rumours I heard from my friend about Diamond was banned in HK. When I read some of the comments on this video in YouTube, I’m wondering what the heck people panic about. The only thing you need to panic is if you’re one of their full time agents. From the news, the message is clear enough; Diamond can’t produce what they call ‘energy water’ or ‘miracle water’, but it does not harm human body though. It does prove the water that goes through the filter system is free from bacteria and it safe to drink. So what’s the harmful effect anyway? This video also shows how powerful the media effect in HK. It like represent people’s voice in a democratic country. If on Malaysia TV, they’ll probably describe it as ‘D brand’ and take viewers ‘around the garden’ instead of goin straight to the message.
HK movies nowadays can use the word ‘rubbish’ to describe. But Dog Bite Dog is a bit differently shocking. The story revolve 2 main character, Edison play a Cambodian assassin who grew up, trained and treated like an animal since he was a kid (quite surprise he plays such character) while Sam Lee plays a mentally unstable cop causing by his father’s past. Both main characters’ background creates an insane behavior. It’s understandable why this movie not shown in local cinema due to its violent content. But the message, movie flows and the acting are terrific. A must watch fantastic movie.
If I’m not watching Night at the Museum in the next few days, this probably the final movie I seen for 2006. Luckily the boobs, I mean the movie is not really as bad as I imagine, but it’s not a great movie either; regardless whose cast on it or who’s the director is. James Cameron can’t make another Titanic and win Oscar again. The Curse of the Golden Flower is beautifully made when come to the bling bling costumes and the push up boobs. I’m wondering how real it is, I mean the way they really dress in Tang Dynasty. Other than that, this is just a traditional drama telling a story about conflict happen in the royal family. There’s one scene which is really boobs, I mean really cool is where the emperor’s followers who dress like some kind of Chinese ninja going to attack his ex-wife’s family. I like this scene a lot. And I felt Jay Chou should stick back to his music.
No surprise that this movie beat Casino Royal; highest ranking for 3 weeks in a row at No. 1 in U.S. box office. Happy Feet is different from other animation movie. When comes to penguin character and storyline, it’s more realistic and logically in terms of penguin expression, the way they move, communicate and habitat. What I mean unrealistic and not logic is such as cars that can talk, build their own town and move w/o driver, mouse in tuxedo, wow!, a vegetarian shark living with fish community in a city below sea level that looks similar to New York Times Square, lion that can be a good friends with zebra, giraffe, hippo etc. Don’t expect a big laugh from Happy Feet since their not similar to those penguins created in Madagascar. Anyhow, this is one of the best movies for 2006. Mention bout that new James Bond movie, pay for the ticket if you like the gorgeous Austin Martin and sexy lady. What attractive me is only at the cool opening.
It’s hard to avoid comparison if you’ve watch the Internal Affairs before. Overall, I’m more prefer the Hong Kong version, but it doesn’t mean The Departed is a bad movie. In fact in some scenes, the English version is more logical. For example in Internal Affairs, Edison plays the young Andy Lau and Shawn Yue plays the young Tony Leung where neither both of them not even 5% look similar. In The Departed, the story plot flows continuously where they trained in Police Academy and went undercover; without getting any replacement actors to act as their younger age. The love triangle story plot that been revised is more interesting than the original film. The worst thing about the Hollywood version is they get a bunch of Chinese guy who act as villain microchips buyers speaks terrible Cantonese. I bet these guys in real life were grew up in Chinatown where seldom communicate in Chinese. Martin Scorsese should get Lau Wai Keong to get some ‘keh leh feh’ from Hong Kong for help on this part. On acting wise, Leonardo is better than Tony Leung, Jack Nicholson more better than Eric Tsang but Andy Lau is better than Matt Damon when comes to the character. The special about this ending is…they all departed and a rat that appear in the final scene.
I’m not a fans of Nelly Furtado. Even the first single dated few years back, I’m Like A Bird is a very irritating song for me. Her ala Macy Gray’s voice also slightly irritating as well. But not until I listened to her new CD, I thought Jay Chou ‘Still Fantasy’as usual will be the best album of the year; I mean for me. Other than Maneater and Promiscuos featuring Timberland that getting a lot of playlist on media and club, other songs in the CD are very very cool. The beat is so cool until it makes me hard to eject this CD out from my car audio whenever I’m driving. Her new style of music sounds like Gwen Stefani + Madonna. Check out few other songs in My Music section which happens to be my favorite.
Before going into cinema this morning, I never thought this would be the best movie I ever watch this year. It's a very unique love story about two different owner of a same lake house; Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock writing letters and fall in love with each other. Soon they discover they are actually living 2 years apart from each other in time. Very interesting. And this is the first time I experience watching a movie when one of the audience crying so loud at my back row while the movie reaching the end. It’s kinda funny moment for me and my girlfriend.
Just forget about this movie, unless you really like Kung Fu movie very much. The Kung Fu actions from Donnie Yen are impressive; that's it. Rest of it is a waste of money and time. Enough for a Hong Kong movie.
